Released last Friday was the new EP from NZ's most exciting and innovative live act, Yoko-Zuna! Luminols is five tracks showing a varied sound from Yoko-Zuna, and a band which have become incredibly comfortable in their own skin. Ranging from the pulsating electronic sounds of ‘Lightning Sabres’ to the brooding slow-burn of ‘Orchard St’Yoko-Zuna is a band taking their sound to the next level.

All the links to stream and purchase Luminols can be found HERE. And if you're in Auckland, Yoko-Zuna are celebrating the release this Friday night at the King's Arms.

Ahead of a run of intimate shows to perform and record album #6, Fly My Pretties are set to release the Live at the Isaac Theatre Royal EP!

On February 12, 2016, Fly My Pretties played the Isaac Theatre Royal in Christchurch for the second year in a row. Again, Christchurch came to the party and again, Fly My Pretties delivered a truly memorable show. We were lucky enough to get blessings from a few of the artists involved to create this EP, and Live at the Isaac Theatre Royal celebrates both this beautiful theatre and NZ creativity.

Featuring FMP classics 'Bag Of Money' and 'Old Friend', along with a few new tunes including Tiki Taane's 'Always On My Mind' performed with a full band for the first time ever, pre-orders are available now for the digital only EP from Bandcamp (available now) and iTunes (available Fri June 3), with all pre-orders getting ‘Take It From Me’ instantly. All links to pre-order are available HERE

FMP will record and perform a brand new show and album in August, with a run of intimate shows in Auckland and Wellington. Limited tickets remain, and all the info can be found HERE for String Theory!

Sneakily leaked to world last week (and just in time to celebrate NZ Music Month) was LPMT007 - our first mixtape of 2016! A merging of tracks from our three latest releases (Miloux, Bailey Wiley & Yoko-Zuna), sneaks in an addictive house number from Chambres and exits the building with two Loop classics from Recloose & Jet Jaguar. 100% Loop & 100% NZ goodness, all available for your free download and streaming pleasure HERE!

As part of a partnership between Loop & Think INC., the first in a series of disruptive thinkers we are helping bring to NZ is Apple Co-founder Steve Wozniak! An Evening With Steve Wozniak is a chance for Kiwi audiences to hear from one of the most influential people in the history of modern technology. This August, the innovative and inspiring force that is Woz will land in Auckland for one night only.

With a hefty resume of accomplishments in the digital world (across Atari & Hewlett-Packard) and the humanitarian sphere (founding the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) to protect digital rights of internet users worldwide), the sweetest fruit of Woz’s laborious pursuits was Apple: the corporation that has revolutionised how we communicate, how we work, how we live. This is our chance to hear the legend himself!

One month after Woz graces our shores, British science communicator, academic, researcher, rationalism advocate, physician and best-selling author Dr. Ben Goldacre will be in New Zealand for the first time this September to inform the public – in his unique comical nature – of the dangers implicit in the modern trend of spreading scientific misinformation, and how to calibrate our bullsh*t meters!

A graduate of Oxford University, a licensed physician, and imminent researcher and academic, Dr. Ben Goldacre is best-known as the author of Bad Science and Bad Pharma, along with his long-running column in The Guardian. This one-off evening will give audiences a chance to not only hear Dr. Ben Goldacre bring down pseudoscience, but also interact with the audience with a Q&A session.
