Jay Thomas is a New Zealand-born Australian songwriter, recording artist and producer whose career spans more than three decades. He first gained international recognition as a member of ARIA nominated Australian R&B group Kulcha before co-founding the Australian–New Zealand roots-reggae band Paua, writing, producing and performing music that has connected with audiences across Australasia and beyond.

An accomplished live performer, Jay has appeared at major festivals, concert venues and events in Australia, New Zealand and internationally. Known for his engaging stage presence and genuine connection with audiences, live performance remains an integral part of his work.

Alongside his career as a recording artist, Jay has developed an extensive catalogue as a songwriter and producer. He has created music for his own projects and collaborated with artists across a diverse range of styles, with songwriting recognised for its memorable melodies, meaningful lyrics and strong musicality.

Jay continues to develop his solo career while writing, recording and collaborating with artists across Australia and New Zealand.
