Tāmaki Makaurau band Corrella return with their new single, ‘Under The Covers’, their first new release since their 2024 album Skeletons. Arriving on the back of a huge summer that has seen the band light up festival stages across Aotearoa and join UB40 on their New Zealand tour.

‘Under The Covers’ sees Corrella building on the signature sound that has made them a fan favourite - blending South Pacific-inspired roots and reggae with touches of soul, funk and pop. The result is a smooth, sun-soaked track with an infectious groove, capturing the warmth and energy that has defined the band’s recent run of live shows.

The single is the first step in a journey towards their third album release. Featuring lead vocals from Te Naawe Tupe, the band have been recording and collaborating in studio with producer Christian Mausia, a key member of the Corrella live experience.

The single follows the success of Skeletons, an album which cemented Corrella’s place as one of New Zealand’s most exciting acts. Since breaking through with their debut album Road From 26 and the record-breaking single ‘Blue Eyed Māori’, their second album featured the track ‘How Will I Know’, which was one of the most-played songs on NZ radio for over three months. After taking home Best Roots Artist at the Aotearoa Music Awards for two-straight years, the band have continued to grow their audience, selling out shows nationwide and becoming a staple on the festival circuit.

The past-summer has seen Corrella’s live show go to the next level, winning over fans every time they take to the stage. Performances at the largest festivals in NZ, including Electric Avenue, Rhythm and Vines, Homegrown and Rhythm and Alps, were complimented by support slots on UB40’s entire NZ tour, and L.A.B’s sold-out Tauranga show.

After a summer of career-defining performances, ‘Under The Covers’ arrives as the next step forward - a confident, feel-good release that keeps Corrella’s momentum rolling and sets the tone for what’s to come.
