Introducing Sunset Tsunami, an NZ/UK electronic-duo blending Dub, DnB, and Hip-Hop into a fusion of beats, samples, live instruments, and vocals. Their debut release is the single ‘Dub Till Dawn’, the first taken from their upcoming debut album.

Blending heavyweight dub grooves with entrancing vocal melodies, ‘Dub Till Dawn’ invites listeners into a sonic tide that swells and recedes from twilight through to daybreak. Invoking memories of laid-back classics from artists like Thievery Corporation and Nightmares On Wax, the track draws on the deep, bass-heavy traditions of dub while weaving in soulful, ethereal vocals.

The release includes a drum & bass remix by Sydney-based producer MO2, switching up the original into a double time groove. The entrancing vocals remain, while the energy is ramped up to compliment the laid-back original.

Marcus “Sideways” Fletcher emerged from the concrete maze of South London, raised by a loose crew of vinyl hunters and renegades. Armed with an MPC and a battered record collection, he forged a beat-driven style shaped by the chaos of illegal raves and crate-digging obsession. Chuck “Buckwheat” Davidson grew up skating the industrial fringe of Auckland, crafting bass-heavy tunes and telling increasingly wild tales - from stealing an amp at a Sex Pistols gig, to vodka shots with the Beastie Boys. Truth or myth, his low-end sensibility is undeniable. A chance meeting at a warehouse party in Sydney sparked Sunset Tsunami’s formation.

‘Dub Till Dawn’ is the first of many releases to come from Sunset Tsunami, as they unearth a treasure trove of electronic goodness. Their debut album is set for release before the end of 2025, with more singles to come before then. Expect more left turns and intrigue with each release as Sunset Tsunami ride an electronic wave.
