Sunset Tsunami return with their second single ‘Trigger Warning’, a heavyweight dubwise tune featuring one of Aotearoa’s most respected roots/reggae vocalists Israel Starr. Driving basslines, dubbed-out echoes, and live instrumentation collide with Sunset Tsunami’s sample-rich textures - a production built for both the sound system arena and forward-thinking club spaces.

‘Trigger Warning’ is a slice of electronic dub, built around a heavy leaning sub which evokes the weight of Scotland’s soundsystem pioneers Mungo’s Hi Fi. As Israel Starr recalls: “One beat caught my ear and I started freestyling. The first words that came were ‘Trigger Warning, from the top of the hill.’ Three takes later, it was done.”

‘Trigger Warning’ lands as Sunset Tsunami’s second single, following ‘Dub Till Dawn’, which introduced their blend of heavyweight dub rhythms, hypnotic textures and vocal-led atmospherics (complete with a D&B refix from Sydney producer MO2). With more singles on the horizon, this release marks another step toward Sunset Tsunami’s debut album, due December 2025.

About Sunset Tsunami

Sunset Tsunami is an electronic duo blending sample-rich beats with live instruments and vocals. The project began after the pair met at a Sydney warehouse party and bonded over a shared obsession with dance music and beat-making. The name stuck: Sunset Tsunami - powerful, a little ambiguous, and broad enough to carry their genre-fluid sound. Their tracks chase freedom over formulas, fusing hip-hop, ska, reggae, dub, drum & bass, neo-soul and house into something that feels both classic and forward-leaning. It’s music for open ears and late nights built on bass, melody and the thrill of discovery.

Scheduled for release in December 2025, their debut album Dub Till Dawn will feature a mix of original tracks alongside remixes in an electronic dub / bass style.
