Three acclaimed voices in Pacific reggae come together for a special joint headline show at Ponsonby Social Club this August: Irie Love, Iharaira Starr and Rubi Du.

Born and raised in Hawai‘i, Irie Love has spent more than two decades sharing her distinctive blend of reggae and soul around the world. She has toured and performed alongside artists including Fiji, P!nk, Chaka Khan, Tarrus Riley, Morgan Heritage, J Boog, Common Kings, Katchafire and The Wailers.

Following the release of her latest album, Reflections, in December 2025, Irie Love returns to Aotearoa with a renewed focus on music, culture, wellness and connection. She is also the founder of Mana Wahine Movement, which empowers young female artists across Hawai‘i and Aotearoa.

Wellington-based multi-Platinum and Gold artist Iharaira Starr is one of Aotearoa’s leading independent roots artists. His authentic fusion of roots reggae, funk and world music has earned him Best Roots Artist at the Aotearoa Music Awards and two Best Reggae Album awards at the Māori Music Awards.

Across his career, Iharaira has collaborated and produced alongside international reggae artists including Luciano, Lutan Fyah, Gappy Ranks, Million Stylez and Mutabaruka, as well as Aotearoa artists including Tiki Taane, Troy Kingi, Melodownz, Sons of Zion, Tomorrow People and Awa. He will be joined on the night by DJ Fanta Pants.

Tāmaki Makaurau reggae and dancehall artist Rubi Du has established herself as one of the most exciting voices in Aotearoa’s roots and dancehall scene. Formerly known as SilvaMC, Rubi has shared stages with Fat Freddy’s Drop, Che Fu and Shapeshifter, building a reputation for electrifying live performances and a sound that is distinctly her own.

Drawing on her Caribbean heritage, Rastafarian upbringing and Kiwi roots, Rubi Du combines heavy basslines, melodic vocals and powerful stage presence, bringing fresh energy to South Pacific reggae and dancehall.

Together, Irie Love, Iharaira Starr and Rubi Du bring three distinct sounds and stories to Ponsonby Social Club for an intimate headline show celebrating reggae, soul, roots and dancehall.
