Why So Far Tour - Wellington
When & Where
SorchaLula unveils her debut EP ‘Why So Far’ on Loop Electronic, celebrating with a release tour of Aotearoa. Expect talented musicians, great sound, creative crews, and venues in the very heart of the scene at every stop. The first gig marks the EP release date of Fri 20 Nov in Te-Whanganui-a-Tara / Wellington, at the hot new club Public Service Center featuring a custom-built Tub’s Audio rig. SorchaLula’s musical collaborators Samuel (vocals) and Merlin Webster (guitar) will perform live with her (as featured on the EP), and the exquisite Zuke (Ed Zuccollo/Loop Records) will add his sonic beauty across the decks and live Minimoog.
Emerging from the Aotearoa underground with a reputation for sensual, slinky and bass-driven DJ sets, SorchaLula’s original music weaves together intricate percussion, field recordings and heavy bass weight. Her sound is emotionally charged and physically grounded, exploring the duality of tenderness and power within the dance music scene. With supple, rolling grooves, weathered textures and organic instrumentation, her first single was hailed as "an impressive debut" by the NZ Listener/NZ Herald. Her second single was picked out by the Spotify editorial team, which is almost unheard of for a newly released producer. With her third single out on Fri 30 Oct, she has already proved she’s one to watch before the full EP is revealed on 20 Nov.
