Loop are excited to announce the return of their mix series Loop Select DJ Tape with special guest Frank Booker soundtracking its return exclusively to Apple Music. Loop has been releasing mixtapes in various forms and formats for over 20 years, and is now the first label in New Zealand to be invited by Apple Music to host a show on the platform. 

Iconic DJ and producer Frank Booker has been invited to kick off the mix series in true Booker fashion. Based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa, Frank Booker has built a worldwide reputation for incredible edits and DJ sets and has been supported by the likes of Natasha Diggs, The Blessed Madonna, Dam Swindle, Optimo, Mr Scruff, Jimpster, Session Victim amongst many others.

This mix see’s Booker bringing his signature sound of house, soul, funk, broken beat and everything in between which is guaranteed to get the party started. 

“I was honoured to be asked by Loop to put together their very first mix for Apple Music. I wanted it to be a showcase of soulful dance music, both vocal and instrumental. This mix was recorded live in one take using a Condesa Electronics Lucia Mixer, a Pioneer EFX1000 and 2 x Pioneer XDJ1000s. Please enjoy! X”

The Loop Select brand has existed in various forms for over 20 years. 2001 saw the release of Loop Select 001, a CD/book combined release showcasing all aspects of music, art & culture in the Wellington scene of the day.
