Loop Electronic presents the second single from SorchaLula's forthcoming EP. Following on from her debut single's deep, organic house vibe, ‘Love For My Hater’ delves into territory familiar to her existing audience: breaks and UK bass.

While retaining the intricate percussion and distinctive production of her debut single, ‘Love For My Hater’ is a fiercer expression of SorchaLula’s bass-driven sound. Layering field recordings over an energetic bassline, the track features soulful, attitude-laden vocals from Pōneke vocalist Samuel. Defiant yet self-reflective, its lyrics explore sending love to the “haters” both around us and within ourselves.

‘Love For My Hater’ marks SorchaLula’s first official release with Samuel, a multi-genre vocalist whose soulful, gritty delivery is rooted in gospel and who has also performed and released music with Wellington pop-groove band Cecilia’s Crop. After meeting on the festival circuit and connecting through music, dance and queer identity, the pair have collaborated on multiple tracks and performed together at festivals including CubaDupa. Their writing often explores challenging emotions and experiences, creating a potent mix of authenticity, depth and attitude.SorchaLula has been a presence in the New Zealand’s bass community since 2019, with DJ appearances at Northern Bass, Shipwrecked, AUM, Twisted Frequency festivals, often sharing the same community events as friends and peers Zuke and Paige Julia. Deep diving into production in 2023, SorchaLula has compiled a diverse collection of tracks that will make up her debut EP.
