New Zealand’s most-loved musical collective Fly My Pretties are proud to present their latest release,  Elemental (The Complete Show). This album brings together the entire Elemental live experience in one place for the very first time - capturing the full breadth of the show alongside five brand-new songs. The release arrives alongside an extended documentary piece which goes deep into the recording journey captured at Wellington’s Massey University.

Written and recorded over one intensive week at Wellington’s Massey University, and performed live at capacity shows in Auckland and Christchurch earlier in 2025, this new album expands the project into its ultimate form. Elemental (The Complete Show) offers fans the complete journey: the full live performance that seamlessly weaves fundamental human, spiritual, and natural themes into one powerful set.

Elemental (The Complete Show) gives listeners the chance to relive the magic of the live performance. Recorded at The Great Hall in partnership with Massey University and performed as part of three sold-out shows at the 2024 Wellington Jazz Festival, the album captures the energy of the cast of 11 musicians, combining with over 40 industry professionals, students, and creatives to create a multimedia event unlike anything in the group’s history.

The project sees a group of established and up-and-coming musicians combining. Vocals on the album come from the eclectic group of AJA, RIIKI REID, Taylah, TAWAZ & Louis TM, who all bring their unique styles to the release alongside musical directors Barnaby Weir and Laughton Kora. The album is anchored by a rhythm section of Iraia Whakamoe (The Nudge) and Aaron Stewart (Mel Parsons, T-Bone), and complemented by guitarist Ryan Prebble (The Nudge) and Nigel Patterson (The Black Seeds) on keys.

The complete show contains all of the new tracks written and recorded as part of this new project. In addition to the tracks first introduced on Elemental, the new release features four brand-new songs previously only heard by those who attended the shows.

Each vocalist brought a number of songs to the table to be refined and put through the Fly My Pretties sound, all with the theme of Elemental in mind. This new collection captures tracks such as ‘Face The Sun’ from Barnaby Weir and ‘Nice N’ Easy’ from Ryan Prebble, songs which embrace the folk & blue-grounded sound fans have come to know and love from Fly My Pretties. ‘Energy’ from RIIKI REID and ‘Okay’ from Taylah further show the step forward in the sound of Elemental, with both tracks showcasing each artist's brand of alternative-pop and neo-soul. The tracks arrive alongside a collection which has already birthed fan favourites such as ‘AIE’, ‘See My Flying’, ‘Red Flags’ & more.

The entire show is accompanied by live performances captured in the Great Hall, directed by Shae Sterling and brought to life by visual director Mike Bridgman and Massey’s College of Creative Arts. Together, these performances highlight the interplay between sound, vision, and storytelling that defines Elemental.

Elemental (The Complete Show) is more than an album - it’s a document of collaboration, creativity, and community. Bringing together musicians, students, and visual artists, the project reflects the values of Fly My Pretties while showcasing their ability to evolve. This release stands as the most complete and ambitious Fly My Pretties work to date. It delivers the band’s unmistakable sound while pushing further into neo-soul and funk territories, all grounded in te ao Māori and collective expression.

The release of Elemental (The Complete Show) arrives ahead of Fly My Pretties’ debut performance at Homegrown Festival this coming summer. For the first time, the 11-strong collective will appear at the iconic festival, bringing Elemental to the stage for a special set that will also include a range of classic FMP tracks.
