Tipene is a leading force in Aotearoa’s Hip-Hop scene, known for his powerful bilingual flow and deep connection to Te Ao Māori. Hailing from Hawke’s Bay, his music delivers uplifting messages that bridge cultures and generations. Heritage Trail 2 - The Partnership is his fourth album - weaving together the voices of both established and emerging Māori artists across multiple generations. 

Celebrated names like Troy King, Maisey Rika and Tha Feelstyle, stand alongside Mohi & Jordyn with a Why - each artist bringing their own depth of storytelling and wairua. Emerging talents such as C33Y and Te Paea Seasons add fresh energy, while Te Rawhitiroa and Eru Kapa-Kingi - leaders of the Hikoi mō te Tiriti - infuse their tracks with the spirit of resistance and rangatiratanga. These voices echo the legacy of influential Māori leaders - Moana Jackson, Hone Harawira, Kīngi Tūheitia and Rawiri Waititi - who have each carried the mantle of tino rangatiratanga in their own time and way. The sonic landscape is crafted by production excellence from Aotearoa and beyond. Local heavyweights 10A, NextWaves, Kepz, and Wahz push creative boundaries while honouring whakapapa, while International producers K English and Track Pros add global depth and dimension. Interwoven throughout are the sacred sounds of taonga pūoro, brought to life by tohunga James Webster, Reti Hedley, and Horomona Horo - embedding the mauri of the land and our ancestors deep within the music.
