SUB-TRIBE

SUB-TRIBE

Bio

SUB-TRIBE are a seven-piece dub-fusion band from Aotearoa, blending reggae, dub, bass music, jazz, dancehall, and electronic production into a sound built around deep low-end and groove-driven rhythms. Their music combines live instrumentation with modern production influences, moving between roots reggae, skank-heavy dub, and bass-focused club energy.

Since forming in 2017, the group have developed a strong reputation through touring and live performances across New Zealand and Australia. Early support slots with Salmonella Dub helped establish the band, with subsequent releases continuing to shape their evolving take on contemporary dub and reggae fusion.

Across singles, EPs, and remix projects, SUB-TRIBE have steadily expanded their sound while maintaining a strong focus on rhythm, live energy, and collaborative songwriting. Their catalogue draws influence from reggae and sound system culture, while incorporating elements of dancehall, electronic music, and live improvisation.

The band have performed at major festivals and events throughout Australasia, sharing stages with established names in reggae, roots, and bass music while building a loyal audience through their live shows.

Now entering a new chapter with Loop, SUB-TRIBE continue to develop their blend of live dub, electronic production, and bass-driven songwriting through new releases and upcoming projects.
