Sydney-based dub-fusion outfit SUB-TRIBE release their hotly anticipated self-titled debut EP. Following a successful series of singles and tours along the Australian east coast supporting dub heavyweights OKA, Salmonella Dub and reggae royalty David Grace & The Injustice, SUB-TRIBE have been busy in the studio, finally cooking up their first major body of work.

Showcasing their own style of dub music which they aptly call “dub fusion”, SUB-TRIBE have produced a five-track release suited equally to the festival dancefloor and the home hi-fi. From the deep rolling bass of dub and smoky trumpet lines of jazz, to the string-bending riffs of blues guitar and the vocal richness of vintage soul, the band traverse multiple genres to stitch together the SUB-TRIBE sound: a unique blend of electronic production and acoustic elements that strikes a balance between the innovative and the familiar.

“We love to experiment electronically and go off on musical tangents but we also love the simplicity of a voice and an acoustic guitar. This release is about bringing together the best of those worlds.”
